Preparation pays
- Remove old flaking paint, either rubbing down with glass paper or choose a paint stripper.
- When painting woodwork that has knots, to stop these coming through your paintwork, apply a knotting solution under the final paint coat.
- Use a fine surface filler to fill any minor holes or cracks. Fill then rub down once dry.
