Addressing an industry-wide issue
- Wall odour phenomenon presents itself as an unusual smell – not the odour you would usually associate with paint
- It is caused not by paint but by almost undetectable bacteria or chemicals present on the surfaces of a very small number of walls
- The phenomenon is extremely rare, with around a 1 in 100,000 chance of experiencing the problem
- It affects many different paint brands from manufacturers across the world
- There is no evidence that wall odour phenomenon creates any health and safety side effects whatsoever
- It’s easily resolved or prevented by sealing your walls with an alkali resistant sealer before painting or repainting
